Toronto ‘miracle’ plane crash

It was a plane crash unlike any other. On Monday, February 17, a Delta Air Lines jet carrying 80 people crash-landed at Toronto’s main airport, flipping onto its roof. Endeavor Air Flight 4819, with 76 passengers and four crew members, was attempting to land at Toronto Pearson International Airport when the aircraft overturned.

In a remarkable turn of events, there were no fatalities. Officials report that 18 people sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals by ambulance or helicopter. “We are extremely thankful that there were no lives lost and that injuries were relatively minor,” said Deborah Flint, CEO of Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the crash, as it remains unclear how the aircraft ended up on its roof.
